A SCARCE .380 PINFIRE SIX-SHOT POCKET-REVOLVER, MODEL 'JAVELLE'S PATENT', serial no. 8,
circa 1865, with blued octagonal 4in. barrel, bead fore-sight on a triangular base, forward facing swing under-lever allowing the barrel to tilt down releasing the cylinder arbor, the underside of action behind the lever signed 'JAVELLE M ST. ETIENNE' over 'BTE S.G.D.G.', plain cylinder drawing forwards and off to load, open iron frame with moulded standing breech, double action mechanism with spurred hammer and guarded trigger and smooth walnut semi saw-handled walnut grip with domed iron grip-cap, much original finish remaining
