for 1895, 30in. replacement nitro chopperlump barrels (in 2004), sunken ribs with acanthus scroll detailing at the breech ends and gold-inlaid '1' and '2', the tubes engraved 'HOLLAND & HOLLAND BRUTON STREET, LONDON.', 2 3/4in. chambers, bored approx. imp. cyl. and 1/4 choke, toplevers gold-inlaid '1' and '2', automatic safeties with gold-inlaid 'SAFE' details, gold-inlaid cocking-indicators, best bold Royal scroll engraving, the lockplates with the makers name in elaborate cartouches, the undersides with 'ROYAL HAMMERLESS EJECTOR' in further cartouches, the fences with carved shell details, bright and blued finish overall, 13 7/8in. well-figured stocks including horn buttplates, No.2 with crack at hand and insert repair, light damage and repairs to fore-end wood No.1, weight 6lb. 14oz. (No.1) and 7lb. 4oz. (No.2), in their leather lined brass-cornered oak and leather case with internal protector flap

Provenance: The makers have kindly confirmed that the guns were completed on the 21st June 1895 for a 'J.J. Joicey'
