A VICTORIAN PAINTED POLICE TRUNCHEON TO THE PARISH OF BUCKLAND,
circa 1860, 18 1/4in. overall and of boxwood with ribbed handle, the remainder with a large gilded crown over 'V.R.' device above a red panel with 'CONSTABLE' in gilt above 'PARISH OF BUCKLAND', all on a black ground (some losses to decoration and frosting to surface)

Provenance: Buckland is a parish in Oxfordshire within the Vale of the White Horse, now covered by the Thames Valley Police
