A GOOD .65 BRUNSWICK TYPE PERCUSSION RIFLE CIRCA 1845, serial no. 8,
with 30in. barrel rifled for belted ball with two grooves, fitted with a bayonet bar at muzzle, blade front-sight and and ungraduated or notched leaf rear-sight, the lock of small Pattern 1839 form, stamped on the tail 'TOWER PROOF' and with the Queen's crown to the centre, regulation brass mounted full walnut stock, the brass mounts include a scroll trigger-guard, regulation style buttcap, and two rammer pipes, the nose cap engraved 'No 8' indicating it was one of a stand, good sharp condition, the barrel to a grey / brown patina and the stock quite sharp with some minor bruising, complete with original rod and sling swivels

Other Notes: An exceptionally rare carbine and one of very few known This rifle is a trade variation of the Brunswick made for commercial sale in the 1840 to 1850 period
