A 12-BORE PINFIRE DOUBLE-BARRELLED SPORTING GUN SIGNED THOMAS BOSS, serial no. 842,
for 1848 and almost certainly converted from percussion, with browned damascus 28in. barrels, the top-rib signed 'THOMAS BOSS, 73 ST. JAMES'S STREET, LONDON' and marked for number '2' of a pair (all rubbed but legible), borderline and fully scroll engraved action with Jones-style under-lever, borderline and scroll engraved bar-action locks, dolphin headed hammers, chequered walnut butt-stock (cracked and repaired over left lock), chequered walnut fore-end, iron furniture, the lower tang with grip-safety bar (currently fixed in the 'off' position)
