for 1870, late second model with re-blued round 24 1/4in. barrel (shortened level with end of magazine tube), integral fore-sight moulded on the front barrel-band, flip-over two position rear-sight, the top of barrel with traces of address and patent details, brass frame with small loop finger-lever, walnut straight-hand butt-stock, brass carbine-style heel-plate with sliding trap-door (toe screw absent), plain walnut three-quarter length fore-end with two further barrel-bands, full-length magazine tube and iron swivels
