A VERY GOOD .41 (RIMFIRE) HAMMOND PATENT SINGLE SHOT DERRINGER BY CONNECTICUT ARMS CO., CIRCA 1870, no visible serial number,
with 4in. sighted octagonal barrel, the top flat stamped 'CONNECTICUT ARMS & MANF. CO. NAUBUC CONN', and on the top of the breech 'PATENTED OCT 25,1864', sheath trigger and two piece gutta percha grips, breech is unlocked by a stud and pivots to the left for loading, excellent condition overall with almost all deep blue to barrel and case colours to frame and hammer

Provenance: This type of derringer, also known as the Bulldog was made circa 1866 to late 1888 with a total production estimated at 8000
