A 12-BORE FLINTLOCK IRON-BARRELLED BLUNDERBUSS FOR THE EAST INDIA COMPANY, serial no. D37,
dated for 1807, with heavy, swamped two stage twist iron 18in. barrel, plain radiused lock, the rounded tail signed 'W. GANDER' (rubbed), the heart-shaped 'VEIC' trademark together with the date stamped forwards of the hammer, walnut full-stock (inlet repair alongside tang behind lock), brass furniture, the heel-plate spur stamped 'D37' (possibly later) and replacement iron ramrod (barrel re-browned, lock cleaned)
