last quarter of the 18th century, with round iron tapering 7in. barrel, the top marked 'R H R', Birmingham proofs, moulded band at breech, plain iron lock with bridle-less frizzen and side sear, borderline engraved hammer, brass three-quarter stock with fish-tailed butt, long iron belt-hook to the left hand side and guardless ball trigger, iron under-barrel ramrod
