Swiss, circa 1852, with round 33in. rifled barrel, dove-tailed blade fore-sight, elevating tangent rear-sight with wing-nut lock, plain elongated top-tang, plain hump-back lock signed 'H. JAQUET A GENEVE', plain walnut full-stock with 'roman-nose' comb, heavy iron hooked butt-plate, re-inforced trigger-guard tang, double-set triggers, finger-spur to the trigger-guard bow, iron roll-tipped nose-cap, iron under-barrel ram-rod with captive sliding ball-guides, socket to the right hand side of muzzle and iron sling swivels, together with its seldom encountered iron, concave triangular cross-section bayonet (no scabbard).
