manufactured between 1879 and 1918, with push to cock 18in. barrel, bead fore-sight, standing notch rear-sight to the top of the octagonal receiver, spoon shaped loading port behind rear-sight, the left side of receiver marked 'H.M. QUACKENBUSH HERKIMER N.Y. PAT JUNE 6 1876-JULY 19 1881' over 'MAY 21 72-RE'SEP 28 72', the top-tang marked 'MODEL 83', walnut straight hand butt-stock, iron crescent heel-plate, the whole brushed bright and expertly restored
