with 22in. round sighted barrel marked 'KENTUCKY' on the left side of the breech, refinished action marked 'TRIPLETT & SCOTT / PATENT DEC. 6. 1864' on the tang and 'MERIDEN MAN'FG. CO. / MERIDEN, CONN.' on the left side, walnut butt-stock (lower tang screw absent) with concealed magazine tube (gate spring missing), walnut splinter fore-end, iron mounts and iron sling mounts
