circa 1880, with blued semi octagonal 6in. barrel, raised sighting rib with crescent fore-sight, the top-strap signed 'WATSON BROS, 4 PALL, LONDON', single-sided latch closure, fluted auto-ejecting cylinder, break-open frame marked 'TRANTER'S PATENT', guarded double-action trigger and chequered walnut one-piece grip with lanyard ring to the iron heel-plate, the whole an older best London re-finish and complete in its English market oak storage case, compartmented and lined in red baize, 'Thomas W Watson' parchment trade-label inside lid and complete with a later brass military cleaning rod and brush
