28in. black powder only fine damascus barrels with Henry patent rifling, partially file cut rib engraved 'ALEXR. HENRY. 12 SOUTH ST. ANDREW ST. EDINBURGH. PATENT NO. 2774', reblued open sights with folding leaf sight, white metal inlaid sight lines, the leaf sight marked for 200 yards, blued bead fore-sight, sling eye removed, Jones patent rotary underlever, carved percussion fences, non-rebounding back-action locks with bolted hammers, border and acanthus scroll engraving, brushed bright finish, 14 1/4in. highly-figured replacement pistolgrip stock with cheekpiece, horn pistolgrip-cap, steel heel and toe plates, the fore-end with matching replacement wood, weight 8lb. 12oz.

Provenance: In Donald Dallas' excellent book on Alexander Henry, this gun is listed as having been completed in October 1875, as a .500 best quality double centre fire rifle
