circa 1910, with 26 /4in. tapering round barrel, flat sighting plane to the top for the first third of the barrel-length signed 'JOHN R. GOW & SONS, GUNMAKERS, DUNDEE', dove-tailed fore-sight bead with side protectors, elevating ladder rear-sight, plain blued dropping ramp receiver with twin take-down catches, cocking indicator alongside ramp, chequered walnut butt-stock, iron furniture including heel-plate and under-lever and chequered walnut splinter fore-end with horn tip, the whole retaining much of its original blued finish
