circa 1860, with 29 1/2in. double-edged steel blade double-fullered on each side, inspection mark to ricasso, pierced steel guard, pressed chequered black leather grips, steel hilt with working leaf-spring catch, together with its black leather scabbard with steel fittings, blade with some staining and smoothed pitting, grips worn, hilt and guard with smoothed pitting, scabbard with chape and locket pins missing, leather shrunken and does not fit the blade, 35in. overall
