A SCARCE SOUTH AFRICAN AIRFORCE DRESS DIRK,
circa 1980's, with polished narrow 9 1/2in. double-edged blade, etched trade-mark (obscured by cross-guard), the alloy cross-guard moulded in the form of an eagle with outstretched wings above the motto 'PER ASPERA AD ASTRA' (through hardship to the stars), stippled white plastic grip with twin ribbed bands and shaped pommel, all furniture parts gilt washed, complete with its black leather scabbard with gilded mounts
