circa 1730 and of French style, with round iron 39 1/2in. barrel, a 'Swiss Canton' shield of a letter 'B' crossed with two horizontal lines engraved at the breech end together with the number above, heavily curved and radiused lock with bridle-less frizzen, walnut three-quarter stock with dished cheek-piece, iron furniture including an 'S' shaped sideplate, two barrel-bands and twin banded nose-cap with applied brass fore-sight, missing ramrod
