A 20-BORE FLINTLOCK SILVER-MOUNTED HOLSTER-PISTOL FOR THE PERSIAN MARKET SIGNED 'H. NOCK', no visible serial number,
circa 1800, with 10 1/2in. false damascened barrel profusely inlaid with silver scrolls and arabesques and deeply struck at breech with a Persian makers mark, solid top-tang en-suite, flat, slightly curved, bevel edged step-tailed lock signed 'H. NOCK' and with European scroll engraving, roller frizzen spring, sliding safe behind hammer, walnut full-stock profusely inlaid with silver wire scrolls (old repairs and renewals with copper wire around lock, fore-end tip replaced and inlaid with copper wire), solid silver long-spurred moulded butt-cap stamped with Persian hallmarks and fitted with a coral cabochon at pommel, solid silver hallmarked trigger guard bow, engraved silver sideplate and complex escutcheon at wrist, later dummy ramrod

Other Notes: This is almost certainly a re-use of a Nock lock by a Persian gunsmith
