circa 1861-62, with 8in. slightly tapering octagonal barrel, dove-tailed blade fore-sight, sighting groove to the top-strap, solid iron frame with rear-dismountable cylinder arbor, plain five-shot cylinder, plain side-hammer, chequered double-screwed walnut grips, flat numbered heel-plate fixed to pommel, hinged under-barrel rammer (numbered 979) and guarded trigger, the whole stripped of finish with some patchy dark staining
