A FINE CASED 120-BORE PERCUSSION FIVE-SHOT DELUXE REVOLVER, MODEL 'ADAMS PATENT', serial no. 35560R,
circa 1858, with blued octagonal 4 3/8in. sighted barrel, engraved band at muzzle, engraved borders to the side panels, scroll engraving to the barrel throat, the top-strap and flat signed 'ROBERT ADAMS, 76 KING WILLIAM STREET LONDON' within an engraved border, plain blued cylinder with engraved borderlines around the nipple wells, fully engraved border around the leading edge and with scroll engraving around the centre, fully border and scroll engraved frame with sliding safe behind the cylinder, double action trigger with brushed bright spurred hammer, finely chequered walnut grip with scroll engraved butt-cap, engraved trigger-guard bow and blued rammer mounted to the left of barrel, together with its almost certainly associated but unlabelled oak storage case compartmented and lined in green baize and containing a flask, mould (numbered 13620 and for an 80-bore), nipple-pot, oil-bottle, two cap tins and two action brushes, brass circular escutcheon to lid, the whole retaining a remarkable amount of original finish
