27 1/2in. nitro chopperlump barrels, ribs engraved 'JOHN DICKSON & SON. 63. PRINCES STREET. EDINBURGH', and gold-inlaid '1' and '2' at the breech ends, 2 1/2in. chambers, bored approx. 1/4 choke in all, No.2 left wall at 17, Dickson patent treble-grip round actions incorporating patents 9399 and 10621 of 1887, use numbers 1445 and 1446, Dickson and Morrison patent single triggers, patent no. 21681 of 19th September 1910, toplevers gold-inlaid '1' and '2', automatic safeties with gold-inlaid 'SAFE' details, the actions and furniture finely engraved with acanthus scrolls and floral bouquets, retaining very slight traces of original colour-hardening and finish, 14 1/2in. figured pistolgrip stocks (slight movement on closing) including 3/4in. rubber recoil pads, carved pistolgrip-caps, weight 6lb. 2oz., in their lightweight leather case, the lid outer marked 'C.W. SOMMERVILLE', the interior with gold-tooled leather trade label, quilted interior protecting flap, some accessories and with a canvas and leather outer cover

Provenance: The makers have kindly confirmed that the guns were completed on the 10th August 1912 for a C.W. Sommerville as 'pair of hammerless ejector 12 bore single trigger guns. with pistol hand stocks' and with 27 1/2in. steel barrels
