27 5/8in. (70cm) nitro chopperlump barrels, raised tapered file-cut ribs gold-inlaid at the breech ends '1' and '2', 2 3/4in. chambers, bored approx. 1/2 and 3/4 choke, removable striker discs, toplevers gold-inlaid '1' and '2', manual safeties with gold-inlaid 'SAFE' details, non-selective single-triggers marked 'FABBRI', rolled-edge triggerguards, the actions and furniture deeply carved in high relief with stylised thistle-like designs on a finely matted background, the lockplates with woodland scenes of woodcock in flight on the left and wetland scenes of duck in flight to the right, the undersides with vignettes of spaniels retrieving woodcock, the triggerplates signed 'M. Terzi', bright finish overall, 14in. highly-figured stocks with diamond grips, No.2 cracked at head, No.1 missing leather buttpad, the fore-ends engraved en suite and inset with ornate gold escutcheons, weight 6lb. 15oz.

Provenance: Ennio Mattarelli is a multiple gold-medal winning sport shooter, taking the gold medal at the 1961 and 1969 World Championships (held in Oslo and in San Sebastian respectively) and taking Olympic gold for trap shooting an the Tokyo Olympic Games in 1964.
He was coach to the Italian Clay-Target Shooting National Team between 1989-1992
As well as success in sport shooting, he has been closely involved in gun development in Italy and collaborated with Daniele Perazzi on the design of the sidelock gun he used to win Olympic gold in Tokyo. He also worked with Perazzi in the design of the MX8 model.
