LONDON.', and '1' and '2' at the breech ends, 2 1/2in. chambers, bored approx. true cyl. and imp. cyl. choke, No.1 right wall thickness at 18, actions with slender toplevers, automatic safeties with gold-inlaid 'SAFE' details, the action flats with cocking lever return studs and marked with Perkes 1878 patent details, no. 1968 of May 16th 1878, use numbers 120 and 121, protruding tumbler pivots with gold-inlaid cocking-indicators, best border and bold acanthus scroll engraving, the rear of the lockplates with a stylised shell motif, retaining traces of colour-hardening, 14 1/2in. figured stocks including 7/8in. rubber recoil pads, weight 6lb. 11oz.
