circa 1880, with reblued 26in. round tapering barrel, the left side below rear-sight marked 'FOR WESTLEY RICHARDS No2 MUSKET CARTRIDGE', block fore-sight with dove-tailed bead, short elevating ladder rear-sight, triangle trademark to nocksform, slab-sided receiver with the trademark repeated on the left above 'WESTLEY RICHARDS & CO, LONDON', the right side with 'MARTINI PATENT', teardrop cocking indicator, chequered walnut butt-stock, iron heel-plate, short under-lever and chequered walnut splinter fore-end, the barrel and butt equipped with eyelets for sling, refinished throughout
