A .700 PERCUSSION SERVICE-RIFLE, MODEL 'EAST INDIA Co. MKII BRUNSWICK', no visible serial number,
dated for 1843, with round 30 1/4in. barrel signed on the top 'E.S. BAKER & SON, 24 WHITECHAPEL ROAD LONDON' and rifled for belted ball, applied blade fore-sight, rear-sight of one standing notch with additional folding leaf, borderline engraved bar-action lock signed E.S. BAKER & SON' over the date and marked with the E.I.C. Co. rampant lion trademark, walnut full-stock with large brass patchbox to right hand side, brass furniture, three iron barrel-keys and bayonet bar to the right hand side of muzzle, complete with its original iron ramrod

Provenance: This rifle is unusual as the British army did not adopt the bar action lock for their Brunswick rifles until 1845.
