26in. nitro reproved octagonal barrel, lined to .32 calibre, open sights and two folding leaf sights with silver-inlaid sighting lines and marked for 50, 100 and 150 yards, bead foresight (missing dove-tailed foresight), engraved 'ARMY & NAVY C.S.L. LONDON.', beaded border and acanthus scroll engraving (possibly later), retaining traces of colour-hardening, 14 1/2in. pistolgrip stock with steel pistolgrip-cap, fore-end with horn finial, weight 5lb.
Provenance: The vendor's research has established that this rifle was sold to Robert Peybus, Esq. on 29th June 1900.
