take-down nickel finish example, proofed for .38 Special Blank, 14.5GRs No.5 Cordite, 16 oz. harpoon, manual safety lever, action engraved 'W. W. GREENER. MAKER. BIRMINGHAM. ENGLAND.' and 'GREENER'S LIGHT HARPOON GUN.', in its wood case with lines, guides and harpoons, together with a partial box of Greener Light Harpoon Gun blank cartridges

Provenance: The makers have kindly supplied us with the following information:

"The above gun is from the Greener collection of firearms. It was made in the 1950s and like W.W. Greener's single-barrel General Purpose (GP) shotgun is based on the Martini action. It was made and sold as a kit which included three harpoons, two line guides and six lines, and it was housed in a wooden box with two cleaning rods, brushes and mops for cleaning both barrel and harpoons.

"Last year this harpoon gun was loaned to Claussen Wobke Putz Filmproduktion GmBH in Germany and featured in 'Riskante Patienten' a film made for television."

Literature: The Lot is accompanied by a supporting letter of provenance from the makers, together with two short coloured brochures on instruction for use and images received by the makers of the harpoon gun in use.

Other Notes: The Greener Light Harpoon Gun is probably best well known to the general public being wielded by Robert Shaw as the inimitable 'Quint' in the 1975 classic thriller 'Jaws'
