LONDON.' and gold-inlaid '1' and '2' at the breech ends, 2 1/2in. chambers, bored approx. imp. cyl. and 1/4 choke (both), No.2 gun with extra 30in. nitro chopperlump barrels, the tubes engraved 'HOLLAND & HOLLAND. 98. NEW BOND STREET. LONDON.' and gold-inlaid 'C2' and with some scroll engraving, 2 1/2in. chambers, bored approx. full choke in both, toplevers gold-inlaid '1' and '2', automatic safeties with gold-inlaid 'SAFE' details, hand-detachable sidelocks, gold-inlaid cocking-indicators, rolled-edge triggerguards, border and floral scroll engraving, 14 3/4in. figured stocks, weight 6lb. 6oz., (No.1 and No.2), 6lb. 8oz. (No.2 with extra barrels), in their leather double guncase, the extra barrels in an individual hard leather barrel bucket case
Provenance: The makers have kindly informed us that this pair of shotguns were built with 30in. barrels for 'Ritchie', the No.1 gun being completed July 1921 and the No.2 gun, built to match, a year later.
