for 1904, with 6in. barrel, sighted slide with fine chequered grip-piece towards the front, the right hand side of slide marked 'AUTOMATIC COLT CALIBRE 38 RIMLESS SMOKELESS' and 'MODEL 1902', the left hand side marked 'BROWNING'S PATENT, PAT'D APRIL 20, 1897, SEPTEMBER 9, 1902' and 'COLTS PATENT FIRE ARMS MFG. CO. HARTFORD CONN. USA' together with the 'rampant horse' trademark, full-length frame with external hammer, chequered hard-rubber grips embossed with 'COLT' and the 'rampant horse' trademark, lanyard swivel to left hand side of grip-base, blued magazine with 'PAT'D SEPT 9 1884' stamped to base, the whole refinished with some isolated traces of mild pitting
