circa 1817, with rebrowned 29in. barrels marked on the underside 'TWISTED STUBS', the top-rib signed 'W. SMITH, LONDON' (refreshed), silver bead fore-sight, twin gold lines and touch-holes to the squared patent breeches, engraved top-tang with a starburst at the intersection with the rib-end, flat, slightly curved colour-hardened step-tailed locks with border engraved bevel-edges and signed 'WILLIAM SMITH, PRINCES ST. LONDON' and 'PATENT 1317' forwards of the hammer, further engraving of scrolls to both locks, border and scroll engraved hammers with border engraved squared top-jaws, patent rain-proof pans, roller bearing frizzen springs and border engraved frizzens, each with 'W. SMITH 1317 PATENT', walnut half-stock chequered at the wrist, raised cheek-piece, iron heel-plate with engraved top-spur, iron trigger-guard tang with scrolled pistol-grip and border and trophy engraved bow, silver rectangular barrel-key escutcheons and ramrod throat, turned iron ramrod pipes and original ramrod
