AN UNUSUAL .690 FLINTLOCK RIFLED HOLSTER PISTOL OF SERVICE TYPE SIGNED 'HOLMES', no visible serial number,
circa 1800, with tapering iron 9in. rifled barrel (pitted externally), private proofs at breech, rounded top-tang, bevel-edged step-tailed lock signed 'HOLMES' (refreshed), roller bearing to the frizzen-spring, borderline engraved hammer (spindle screw replaced), walnut full-stock with brass furniture, 'S' shaped side-plate and iron-tipped ramrod (some old repairs and splits to fore-end)
