A PAIR OF 40-BORE FLINTLOCK BOXLOCK MUFF-PISTOLS, no visible serial number,
circa 1800, with unusually short tapering round blued 1 1/8in. barrels, completely un-adorned square central-hammer actions signed 'CLARKE' on the left and 'DUBLIN' on the right, hammers with traces of colour, sliding safes to the top-tangs and surrounding the hammers locking the frizzens, slab-sided walnut butts with shield-shaped silver escutcheons to wrists and concealed automatic triggers
