manufactured circa 1850-51, with round iron 7 1/8in. barrel, blade fore-sight, standing notch rear-sight to the hinged top-strap, plain bevel-edged cylinder with angled nipples, back-action lock with side-hammer, the lockplate with traces of the stamp 'PATENT', swept walnut flared two-piece grip, traces of older re-finish
