A CUT-STEEL COURT-SWORD WITH BLUE AND GILT BLADE,
Georgian, circa 1800, with concave triangular cross-section 33in. engraved blade retaining strong traces of its original blue and gilt finish for the first third, the remainder lightly stained, pierced steel oval guard with applied free-moving cut-steel decoration, narrow cross-guard with small pas-de-ane (one quillion missing), fully decorated cut-steel grip-piece with en-suite urn pommel and cut-steel chain knuckle-bow, complete with its velum scabbard with iron throat mount marked 'R. JOHNSTON LATE BLAND & FOSTER, SWORD CUTLER AND BELT MAKER TO HIS MAJESTY, ST JAMES ST. LONDON', (tip mount absent)
