circa 1865, with blued streamlined 4 1/2in. barrel in imitation of the 1862 model Colt, the top signed 'METROPOLITAN ARMS CO. NEW-YORK', gothic fluted five-shot stepped cylinder, open iron frame (strong traces of colour), brass grip-straps and trigger-guard, smooth flared walnut grip and colour hardened under-barrel rammer, much apparently original blued finish where appropriate
