circa 1840, with turn-off Birmingham proved 2 3/8in. barrels, engraved bands and false rifling at muzzles, underslung nipple-guard, radiused border and scroll engraved action with central dolphin-headed hammer and concealed automatic trigger, signed top-tang and smooth walnut bag-shaped butt, in a later wood storage case compartmented and lined in olive baize and containing a period cap-tin, powder-flask and cleaning rod and associated barrel-key
