A BEHEMOTHIC 1 1/4in. PERCUSSION BANK OR WALL-GUN, no visible serial number,
circa 1835, with slightly swamped twist-iron 54 1/4in barrel, bead-fore-sight, short rear-sighting rib to the breech-end signed 'TYE, SPALDING' within an oval borderline engraved cartouche, scrolled percussion fence, massive oversized plain lockplate possibly originally from a flintlock, carved hammer, the head in the form of a sea-serpent, oversized plain walnut half-stock, iron spurred heel-plate, large trigger-guard tang and bow terminating in a pineapple finial and substantial fore-end mounted iron loop for a pintle mount, all exposed iron surfaces pitted, woodwork with some worm, weight approximately 70lbs.
