A SCARCE MKII FAIRBAIRN-SYKES DAGGER WITH BLACK HILT,
circa 1941-42, with usual-form straight double-edged 6 5/8in. polished needle-point blade etched near guard 'WILKINSON SWORD CO LTD. LONDON' below crossed swords and 'THE F-S FIGHTING KNIFE' on the reverse (etchings lightly stained and rubbed), blued, unmarked boat-shaped cross-guard of 2in. length, chequered blackened brass hilt swelling at the centre and pommel and fixed with a bun nut, generally fine condition and complete with its period brown leather scabbard with blackened brass flat-nosed chape and leather sleeve-tabs, also good condition but missing elastic retaining strap and upper reverse leather panel
