A RARE .36 PERCUSSION SINGLE-ACTION REVOLVER, MODEL 'COLT'S LONDON POCKET OF NAVY CALIBRE', serial no. 37468,
for 1868 and actually produced at the Hartford plant for the London office, with 4 1/2in. octagonal barrel, the top-flat signed 'ADDRESS COL. COLT LONDON', London proofs, stepped cylinder with traces of roll engraved scene, open iron frame marked 'COLT'S PATENT', iron grip-straps and trigger guard bow, articulated under-barrel rammer and smooth walnut grips, all matching numbers including wedge, minimal traces of finish
Provenance: Very few of these London marked Pocket of Navy Calibre revolvers are known, and when they do show up they are more often than not in the 37000 serial number range, but examples are known in the 17000, 34000 and 39000 ranges. A good example for the advanced Colt collector.
