for 1893, 35in. black powder reproved bold damascus barrel, scroll engraved to the side bolsters and short sight flat engraved 'JOHN DICKSON & SON. 63 PRINCES STREET. EDINBURGH', Jones patent rotary underlever, carved percussion fence, rebounding back-action lock, fine acanthus scroll engraving (some patination), 14 5/8in. well-figured pistolgrip stock with engraved steel pistolgrip-cap and 7/8in. rubber recoil pad, fore-end with grip-catch release lever, weight 12lb. 8oz.
Provenance: The makers records list the gun as being sold on the 30th June 1893 as a 35in. barrelled single-barrelled duck gun
