AN UNUSUAL 12-BORE (3IN.) 1878 PATENT PUSH-FORWARD UNDERLEVER TRIGGERPLATE-ACTION SIDEPLATED NON-EJECTOR PIGEON GUN, serial no. 6127,
for 1880, 30in. nitro reproved barrels, broad rib engraved 'JOSEPH LANG & SONS. 22. COCKSPUR STREET. PALL MALL. LONDON.', 3in. chambers, bored approx. true cyl. in both (choking removed), sling swivel removed, large Lang patent triggerplate action, patent no. 545 of 1878 with enlarged flat top standing breech and carved serpentine fences, removable striker discs, Lang patent automatic lever safety, patent no. 133 of 1879 with gold-inlaid 'SAFE' detail, push-forward underlever, fine acanthus scroll engraving with floral bouquets, the triggerplate with 'PATENT JL 76', retaining traces of original colour-hardening,14 1/2in. stock (cast and swept towards central vision), weight 8lb. 2oz.
