OSWESTRY', 2 1/2in. chambers, bored approx. true cyl. and 3/4 choke, action with sideclips, arcaded fences, toplever gold-inlaid '2', automatic safety with gold-inlaid 'SAFE' detail, protruding tumbler pivots with gold-inlaid cocking-indicators, articulated trigger, fine border and acanthus scroll engraving, 14 3/8in. pistolgrip stock with horn pistolgrip cap, two initialled silver escutcheons, including 1/4in. extension, weight 6lb. 11oz.
Provenance: The makers have kindly confirmed that the gun was completed as No.2 of a pair in April 1896 for G.L. Dewhurst.
