AN 18-BORE FLINTLOCK DOUBLE-BARRELLED SPORTING-GUN, serial no. TY-6770,
circa 1800, with re-browned 31 1/2in. barrels, applied bead fore-sight, iron breech-blocks with single broad gold line and each inlet with a rectangular gold poincon marked 'HAUGH DUMFRIES' in raised letters, border and scroll engraved top-tang, platinum lined touch-holes, the underside of barrels marked with the serial number (almost certainly a Southern Irish registration number for Co. Tyrone), Birmingham proofs and the legend 'FINE TWISTED', flat bevel-edged step-tailed locks with inlet gold oval poincons signed 'HAUGH' in raised letters (one defaced), Manton style hammers, Manton style gold re-lined rain-proof pans, roller-bearings to the frizzen-springs, walnut half-stock re-chequered at the wrist, raised tear-drop cheek-piece, iron furniture including raised semi pistol-grip tang, pineapple finial and wood under-barrel ramrod (old inlet repairs to fore-end)
