A CASED RARE 16-BORE FLINTLOCK HEAVY OFFICER'S PISTOL WITH FOLDING BAYONET AND DECORATED BUTT, no visible serial number,
circa 1775, with substantial in the white swamped iron 9in. barrel, private proofs, folding bayonet stored on the right hand side of barrel and released with a side-catch, border engraved plain boxlock action signed on the left hand side in script 'GRICE, LONDON', border engraved central hammer, slab-sided bevel-edged walnut butt inlaid with silver wire flowers vines and foliage emanating from cornucopias to both sides, the bevels with inlaid geometrics and the back with scrolls surrounding a central florette, sliding trigger-guard bow safe, complete with horn tipped ebony under-barrel ramrod and a period walnut storaged case adapted and re-lined for this pistol together with a number of period accessories including a three-way flask, a heavy duty mahogany cleaning rod, an oil bottle, a butterfly combination turn-screw, a scissors ball mould and a pan brush and pricker, some possibly associated
