A .600 PERCUSSION OFFICER'S PISTOL WITH FOLDING BAYONET, no visible serial number,
circa 1805 with later conversion by drum and nipple to percussion, possibly originally a duelling pistol with round 9in. barrel, flat sighting plane signed at breech 'LONDON', bead fore-sight, gold line at breech, standing notch rear-sight to the engraved top-tang, side mounted folding bayonet with 6 1/2in. concave sided triangular blade released via a catch at breech on the left hand side of barrel, bevel-edged stepped tail lock signed 'SMITH' with replacement sliding safe behind the hammer, walnut half-stock with chequered bag-shaped butt, iron furniture except white-metal barrel key escutcheons and yellow metal oval escutcheon at wrist and replacement bone-tipped ebony ramrod
