A 16-BORE PERCUSSION CARBINE WITH MIQUELET LOCK, SIGNED 'MATEO', no visible serial number, Spanish, cut-down and converted from an earlier flintlock, the triple-stage 19in. barrel dated 1859 at breech (when converted) and signed in silver 'POR JOSE MATEO BRISTOLE?', Spanish proofs deeply struck at breech, left hand miquelet lock (possibly from another), re-stocked in beech in the correct spanish style
