W. & C. SCOTT & SON 12-BORE TOPLEVER HAMMERGUN, serial no. 25963, 30in. nitro reproved damascus barrels, the rib engraved 'W. & C. SCOTT & SONS. MAKERS & PATENTEES. 10 GT. CASTLE STREET. REGENT CIRCUS. LONDON.', 2 1/2in. chambers, bored approx. 1/2 choke in both, W. & C. Scott & Sons patent toplever, carved percussion fences, rebounding sidelocks, action flats with the Scott 'Tower' trademark, engraved 'W. & C. SCOTT & SON MAKERS PATENT ACTION.', and a diamond engraved 'W.C.S.S. PATENT OCT. 65. 2752.', beaded border and acanthus scroll engraving, brushed bright a reblued finish overall, 14 3/4in. replacement stock including buttplate (cast on for the left shoulder, some wood filed out on the right hand side), fore-end with Scott lever release, weight 6lb. 6oz.

Provenance: The Vendor has kindly supplied with this gun a letter from the W. & C. Scott information service noting that the gun was manufactured in 1879, the invoice for the re-stocking, and a copy of 'The History of W. & C. Scott Gunmakers. second edition by J.A. Crawford and P.G. Whatley'
