ENGLISH .410 (SMOOTHBORED) SIDELEVER ROOK AND RABBIT RIFLE, no visible serial number, circa 1870, 25 1/8in. turned octagonal to round nitro reproved barrel, 2 1/2in. chamber, bored approx. 1/4 choke, non-rebounding central hammer, sidelever opening, stepped and rounded action, bright and blued finish overall, 14 1/4in. figured stock including steel buttplate, the left-hand side with plaque engraved 'HOLLAND & HOLLAND CONVERTED ROOK RIFLE.', splinter fore-end, weight 3lb. 12oz.
