* A .577 SNIDER MK III CARBINE SIGNED TOWER AND DATED 1858 serial no. 1859, with 23 1/4" barrel rifled with three grooves, block and blade front-sight, rifle pattern tangent rear-sight the ladder broken and top half missing, fitted with the Mk III, latch operated positive bolt locked breech, stamped on the top with a small crown over "G.V." for private government view, and also "B.S.A. CO" with an acknowledgement to Snider Patent border line engraved lock struck with the crown "V.R." cypher on the tail and "1858 TOWER" to the centre, full walnut stock with regulation brass mounts including butt-plate and trigger-guard the nose-cap an iron replacement. complete with sling swivels the rod missing
